ALWAGHT- The head of Iran’s Space Agency announced that the country has completed Pars-2, an upgraded version of the Paya Earth-observation satellite. The new satellite offers imaging capabilities with a resolution of under three meters and is now slated for launch.
Iranian Space Agency chief Hassan Salarieh said the country has made significant advances in its space program in recent years, with major milestones achieved through cooperation among government bodies, universities, research centers and space-sector companies.
He highlighted the successful launch and testing of Nahid-2, Iran’s first telecommunications satellite, as well as progress in satellite launch vehicles including Qaem-100 and Simorgh. The Saman orbital transfer block has also undergone simulator testing, with more advanced versions under development.
Salarieh also announced that Pars-2, an upgraded remote-sensing satellite with imaging accuracy of better than three meters, has been completed and added to the launch program. Meanwhile, construction continues on the Shahid Soleimani communications satellite constellation, described as a key project of the Communications Ministry.
