ALWAGHT- Iran’s Intelligence Ministry says its agents have detained 31 individuals allegedly involved in four organized networks backed by the United States and Israel. The ministry said the groups were operating in Sirjan County, Kerman Province, with the aim of stirring unrest and carrying out sabotage.
Iran’s Intelligence Ministry said its officers in Kerman dismantled four networks after receiving information from the public and conducting intelligence operations.
According to the ministry, the groups sought to recruit teenagers and young people using appealing names and had plans to participate in nationwide unrest.
The ministry also alleged that the networks prepared Molotov cocktails and equipment to damage surveillance cameras, and were involved in attacks on public buildings, banks, property and a police facility during violence in January.
Peaceful protests had begun in late December 2025 over economic grievances, but tensions escalated on January 8–9 amid what Iranian authorities described as foreign interference. The Judiciary said the ensuing violence was part of a US-Israeli-backed “coup attempt.”
