ALWAGHT- The sound of massive explosions was reported in Kuwait and Bahrain on Tuesday afternoon, according to media reports.
Media reports on Tuesday afternoon said loud explosions were heard across Kuwait, with some sources in Iraq claiming the blasts were powerful enough to be heard across the border.
The cause of the explosions was not immediately clear. Initial reports suggested they may have been linked to Iranian retaliatory strikes targeting US military facilities following earlier attacks on Iranian positions in the country's south, although there was no official confirmation.
Separately, reports also emerged of explosions in Bahrain. Other unverified accounts claimed that a Liberian-flagged oil tanker had been struck in the Strait of Hormuz.
