ALWAGHT- Before departing for New York, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that dialogue is not possible with those who act in a coercive, bullying, mischievous, or destructive manner.
Before departing for New York to attend the UN General Assembly, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said the summit is a vital chance for Iran to present its positions and for global leaders to exchange views. While the session’s theme emphasizes convergence and progress, he criticized the reality of unilateralism and hegemony in the conduct of major powers.
Pezeshkian strongly condemned Israel’s ongoing bombardment of Gaza, calling the deaths of children “truly painful” and denouncing countries that arm and support Israel. He argued that security should not be reserved for one nation alone, but for all people worldwide, and pledged to voice Iran’s stance on peace, justice, and humanity clearly at the UN.
The president added that he will seek talks with other world leaders, as well as meetings with Iranians abroad, if conditions allow. While stressing the importance of dialogue, he maintained it is impossible to engage with actors who are coercive or destructive. Pezeshkian is scheduled to deliver his address to the UNGA on Wednesday morning.
