OIC Summit: Iran Pushes for Action Against Israel Over Gaza Genocide

ALWAGHT- Iran’s foreign minister urged Muslim nations to boycott Israel and hold it accountable for what he described as a genocidal war against Palestinians in Gaza.

Iranian diplomat Abbas Araghchi addressed an extraordinary OIC meeting in Jeddah, condemning Israel’s ongoing aggression in Gaza. He urged Muslim states to move beyond “hollow condemnations” and take concrete measures, including sanctions, boycotts, and coordinated international pressure, to hold Israel accountable for its actions.

Araghchi described Israel’s operations in Gaza as collective punishment and genocide, highlighting the systematic destruction of homes, hospitals, and essential infrastructure, which has trapped civilians, particularly children, in extreme famine and starvation. He called on Islamic nations to sever all ties with Israel and confront governments complicit in supporting the blockade and military assaults.

He stressed that Gaza’s tragedy is not only a Muslim concern but a test for the global conscience. Araghchi appealed to all nations to act decisively in support of humanity and justice, warning that delay would have lasting consequences. Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s offensive has killed over 62,740 Palestinians and injured at least 158,250, while the blockade has intensified mass starvation in the territory.
