ALWAGHT- Iran’s Defense Minister stated that the missiles used against Israel during the recent 12-day conflict were produced by the Ministry of Defense several years ago, adding that more advanced, newly-manufactured missiles would be deployed if Israel initiated fresh hostilities.
Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh stated that during the 12-day conflict, Iran faced not only Israel but also the full backing of US intelligence and logistics. He emphasized that all the weapons and equipment used were domestically produced, with Iranian missiles striking their intended targets and inflicting significant damage despite Israeli censorship of the results.
He noted that Israel employed its most advanced air defense systems—including THAAD, Patriot, Iron Dome, and Arrow—but was able to intercept only a portion of the missiles. By the final days of the conflict, Iran’s strike accuracy had reached 90 percent, while Israel’s defenses weakened. Nasirzadeh added that the missiles used were older models, warning that Iran now possesses far more advanced missiles that could be used in any future confrontation.
The war began on June 13 with Israeli strikes on Iranian military, nuclear, and residential sites, supported by US attacks on three nuclear facilities. Iran responded with Operation True Promise III, launching 22 waves of missile strikes on Israeli cities, while also targeting the US al-Udeid air base in Qatar. The fighting ended after a ceasefire was declared on June 24.
