Settlers Storm Al-Aqsa as Violence Escalates in West Bank

ALWAGHT- Under heavy military protection, Israeli settlers stormed the al-Aqsa Mosque as assaults on Palestinian towns across the West Bank intensify.

Israeli settlers, under heavy military protection, stormed the al-Aqsa Mosque compound once again, conducting religious rituals and provocative tours. These actions come amid a broader pattern of near-daily incursions into the holy site, with over 13,000 settlers entering the compound in the first three months of 2025 alone. The situation peaked during the May “Flag March,” when more than 1,500 settlers, including Israeli officials, entered the site in a highly controversial display.

On the ground in the West Bank, settlers attacked the town of Taybeh near Ramallah, setting vehicles ablaze and vandalizing homes with racist graffiti. Simultaneously, Israeli forces carried out raids in the town of Silwan, south of al-Aqsa, as part of a wider campaign targeting Palestinian communities across the territory.

Israeli occupation forces continued a sweeping arrest campaign across multiple areas of the West Bank. Palestinians were detained in al-Khalil, Qalqilya, al-Bireh, al-Mazra’a al-Gharbiya, and Beit Lahm following home raids. These arrests reflect an ongoing strategy of repression amid rising settler violence and deepening tensions across the occupied territories.
