President Pezeshkian: Iran Prepared to Facilitate Pakistan-India Peace Talks

ALWAGHT- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has announced the country’s preparedness to act as a mediator for lasting peace between Pakistan and India.

During a telephone conversation on Saturday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized Iran’s commitment to promoting de-escalation and peace, especially within the Islamic world. He expressed Iran’s readiness to mediate and support efforts toward lasting peace between Pakistan and India, highlighting the Islamic Republic’s welcoming stance on such initiatives.

Pezeshkian congratulated Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Eid al-Adha and stressed the importance of unity among Muslim nations. He accepted Sharif’s invitation to visit Pakistan and instructed his administration to explore ways to strengthen bilateral relations between Tehran and Islamabad.

Prime Minister Sharif reciprocated the Eid greetings and conveyed best wishes to Iran and its leadership. He reflected on his recent productive visit to Tehran, expressed hope for the implementation of signed agreements, and welcomed Iran’s offer to mediate Pakistan-India tensions. The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to dialogue amid ongoing regional challenges, following a recent intense but brief conflict between India and Pakistan.
