Tensions Flare Near Occupied Golan as ‘Israel’ Raids Quneitra

ALWAGHT- Multiple armed breaches by Israeli forces have been reported in Syria’s Quneitra countryside, including incursions near the areas of Jaba, Kudna, and Majdoulia.

Israeli forces have recently intensified their military activity in southern Syria, with tanks advancing near the village of Jaba in Quneitra and opening fire before retreating into the occupied Golan Heights. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), this latest incursion is part of a string of violations, including unprovoked Israeli entries into Kudna and Majdoulia, often accompanied by reconnaissance flights that have heightened fears of a broader conflict.

Local resistance has also been growing. In Ruwayhina, residents forced an Israeli patrol to withdraw after it entered the village and reportedly harassed civilians. The confrontation escalated as locals threw stones and tore down an Israeli flag from a military vehicle, reflecting widespread public anger toward the repeated incursions and the continued Israeli military presence in the region.

These incidents form part of a larger pattern of cross-border operations by Israeli forces across Quneitra and the western Daraa countryside. Earlier on the same day as the Ruwayhina incident, six Israeli armored vehicles briefly entered the Yarmouk Basin area and stationed along a rural road before pulling back. The reasons behind these maneuvers remain unclear, but they have fueled concerns about escalating tensions along the Syria-occupied Palestine frontier.
