Alwaght- Ahmet Davutoglu, Turkish prime minister's visit to tomb of Suleyman Shah in Syria has drawn Syrian anger and prompted its immediate criticism, because this is a flagrant acting aggressively toward Sovereign state of their country.
On May 10, in an armored convoy, Davutoglu crossed briefly into Syria to pay surprise visit to the relocated tomb of Suleyman Shah, grandfather of the founder of the Ottoman Empire, situated a few hundred metres from the border.
In a statement, Davutoglu’s office said, Mr. Prime Minister had visited the tomb but gave no further details .
“The infiltration of Davutoglu inside Syrian territory without the agreement of the Syrian government is a clear aggression on a country with sovereignty, and a breach of laws and international accords,” said the Syrian government in a statement released on the state news agency SANA .
In February, Turkey sent hundreds of troops into Syria to move the tomb.
The tomb of Suleyman Shah, grandfather of the founder of the Ottoman empire, had originally been sited further inside Syria but was relocated closer to the border in a Turkish military operation described by the Syrian government as an act of “flagrant aggression“.
Due to dramatic developments in Iraq and Syria, Turkish former President Abdullah Gul stated, Turkey's failures in Iraq, and Syria are linked to Davutoglu
Turkey, a NATO member with a 900km border with Syria , has time and again been accused of violating Syrian sovereign state and supporting terrorist groups in Syria, which has been led to a deadly crisis since March 2011.
