Bahraini Regime Embraces Israeli Regime, Suppresses Sheikh Isa Qassim

Bahraini Regime Embraces Israeli Regime, Suppresses Sheikh Isa Qassim

Alwaght-The Al Khalifa clan ruling over Bahraini continues to suppress popular uprising, incarcerate Islamic scholars while getting closer to the Israeli regime.

The current Bahraini uprising commenced on February 14, 2011, during a time when an Islamic awakening wave had swept across the West Asia region and North Africa.

Since then thousands of anti-regime protesters have held numerous peaceful demonstrations on an almost daily basis in the tiny Persian Gulf kingdom, calling for the dictatorial Al Khalifah family to step down.

Many have been killed and thousands of others injured or arrested in the ongoing brutal crackdown on peaceful protests.

Bahrainis emboldened despite brutal crackdown

According to sources there are over 4000 political prisoners in the tiny Kingdom who have been jailed by a judicial system subservient to the ruling family. According to Human Rights Watch Bahrain’s criminal justice system fails to deliver basic accountability and impartial justice. The regime’s judicial proceedings move at a snail’s pace coupled with excessive pre-trial detention periods and seemingly never-ending postponements. After jailing almost all political activists and failing to quell the popular uprising, the brazen regime went on to target the senior most Islamic scholar in the country, Sheikh Issa Qassim.

On June 20, the Bahraini regime, backed by the US and Britain, stripped the 79-year-old Islamic scholar of his citizenship. This illegal move came days after suspending the al-Wefaq National Islamic Society, the country’s main opposition bloc, and dissolving the Islamic Enlightenment Institution, founded by Sheikh Qassim, and the opposition al-Risala Islamic Association. Al-Wefaq’s Secretary General Sheikh Ali Salman was arrested late in 2014 and in May this year, he was handed a nine-year jail sentence.

Since the day Sheikh Qassim’s citizenship was withdrawn, his courageous followers, have braved the regime’s intimidation and camped outside his house in Diraz area to prevent his potential arrest. The regime’s brutal crackdown has failed to dampen the spirit of protestors and has actually emboldened their resolve and determination to attain their rights.

Al Khalifa Turns to Zionist regime for assistance in brutality

The Bahraini regime which is fully backed by the United States and Britain in its brutal crackdown on pro-democracy protests has now added insult to injury and fully embraced the number one enemy of Muslims, the usurper Israeli regime.

A Zionist newspaper Maariv has revealed in a report that Bahrain Intelligence Agency gets assistance from the notorious Israeli regime’s spy agency Mossad to suppress the popular uprising in the kingdom. The Manama regime is seeking Mossad’s assistance because of its experience in viciously suppressing the Palestinian Intifada or uprising.

WikiLeaks base cited in the report “Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa”, Bahrain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, has announced several time that he is ready to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Most likely the two must have already met and the details of the covert meetings will be leaked in future.

Betrayal of Muslims, Palestinians

The Bahraini regime is joining a growing list of Arab monarchies and dictatorships that have covert and overt ties with the Israeli regime which continues to brutally massacre Palestinians and occupy their territories, including the third holiest Islamic shrine, the Al Aqsa Mosque in occupied al Quds (Jerusalem).

Therefore, any Muslim country which establishes ties with Israel, is indeed betraying the aspirations of Palestinians and Muslims worldwide. Of course the Bahraini regime aping the footsteps of its benefactor, the Saudi regime whose ties with the Israeli regime are an open secret.

In another outrageous act of showing its proximity to Zionists and the Israeli regime, Bahraini officials approved a Zionist celebration in the capital Manama. According to a Wednesday report of Bahrain’s LuaLua TV reports, pro-regime business men took part in the Zionist Hanukkah celebration.  The businessmen were following in the steps King Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifah who last year, for the first time, hosted the Hanukkah celebration in the capital Manama.

In reaction to this latest disgraceful Hanukkah celebration in Manama, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, has condemned the event.

In a statement, Hamas slammed the ceremony terming it “humiliating and disgraceful display,” where Bahraini dignitaries and traders “hosted a Jewish, Zionist, racist, extremist delegation and danced with them.”
