Alwaght- The commander of Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) says, if necessary, they will fight the ISIS terrorists in Syria after defeating them in Iraq.
The Secretary General of Iraqi Badr Organization said “our mission is to liberate our country” however he added that his forces will chase the ISIS terrorist into Syrian territory if needed.
During a news conference in a town west of Mosul, Hadi al-Ameri said “our mission is to liberate the country and seal the borders so if necessary, we will enter Syria since we believe if ISIS is not removed in there a real danger threatens Iraq”.
About current operation by the Popular Mobilization Forces he said “the Iraqi popular volunteer forces are positioned near western axis of Mosul to tighten the siege on the ISIS”.
“We agreed with the Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi not to enter Mosul and in return the Kurdish Peshmerga will not enter the city either,” he added.
Ameri said any possible entrance to the city depends on some variables and an order from the Commander in Chief of Armed Forces.
Ameri added “We came to the west of Mosul for two reasons, first to tighten the siege on ISIS terrorists in Mosul and cut their path [to Syria], and second to be present in a region near Tal Afar”.
The move comes as some media try to portrait the PMF as sectarian Shiite militia while the move proves them as a national force trying to fight and uproot terrorism even in the region.
