Saudi Arabia Arrests 4 over Car Exhibition Female Models

Jeddah Car Exhibition

Saudi Arabia arrest four people over using female models in a luxurious car exhibition in Jeddah.

Alwaght- Saudi Arabia arrests four people over using female models in a luxurious car exhibition in Jeddah.

The Saudi Ministry of Labor says the issue involves the mingling of men and women and thus represented a crime in the country.

In some pictures of the Exec Car Exhibition in Jeddah, some females stand by some cars with a complete Islamic cover.

This was the first time female models appear next to cars in an exhibition in the extremely conservative country. The incident was angered religious figures and leaders in the country.

One of the arrested people is the representative of the organizing company.

Saudi Arabia is highly criticized for its human rights record especially about women who lack the smallest rights.

The ministry issued a statement on the incident saying the event involved noncompliance with the regulations of female workplace, though the female models were not Saudi citizens.

The Mecca Emir, Khaled al-Feisal ordered local police to “monitor any opposition to regulations and react proportionally”.
