Alwaght- The Iranian foreign minister will participate in talks on Syria in Switzerland's Lausanne on Saturday.
Despite initial informal news that Tehran will not take part in the upcoming Lausanne talks on Syrian crisis due to deep disagreements with some participating countries, the country’s Foreign Ministry declared last night that it will be a part of such talks.
The talks will open on Saturday among the representatives of Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the US and Russia.
After initial informal news that showed Tehran reluctant for the talks, Russian foreign minister and the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, contacted the Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif and urged him to be part of the meeting.
The Iranian side proposed its initiative during the calls and set some conditions before it agrees to be a part of the meeting.
Some of the conditions were accepted by the Russian side and the number of participating countries was increased as requested by Tehran.
Finally Iranian foreign minister left Tehran this morning to take part in the latest multilateral talks on Syria.
