Israel Strikes Yemen’s Hudaydah After Airport Missile Attack

Israel Strikes Yemen’s Hudaydah After Airport Missile Attack

ALWAGHT- Israeli aircraft conducted fresh strikes on Yemen's Hudaydah province, responding to Yemeni military attacks against Israel and following Israeli threats to target Yemeni ports.

Israeli warplanes conducted airstrikes on Yemen’s port city of Hudaydah on Tuesday, following an Israeli military warning to evacuate three key western Yemeni ports. The attack came hours after Yemeni forces launched a missile toward Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv, briefly disrupting air traffic. While details on casualties and damage remain unclear, the escalation marks a continuation of cross-border hostilities between Israel and Yemen’s Ansarullah-aligned forces.

Yemen’s military claimed responsibility for the missile strike on Ben Gurion Airport, framing it as retaliation for Israel’s siege on Gaza and recent attacks near Beirut. Brigadier General Yahya Saree, a Yemeni military spokesperson, vowed to continue operations until Israel ends its offensive in Gaza. Meanwhile, Israel activated air raid sirens across multiple cities, including the West Bank settlements, and claimed its missile defenses intercepted the Yemeni projectile.

The exchange underscores the widening regional fallout of Israel’s war on Gaza, which has now killed over 54,927 Palestinians—mostly women and children. As Yemeni forces escalate their involvement, the conflict risks further destabilizing the Red Sea region, where Ansarullah attacks on shipping have already drawn US and British military responses.
