Alwaght- Multiple bomb blasts hit different Syrian cities as the national army tightens the noose around terrorists in Aleppo and elsewhere.
Five bomb explosions rocked three Syrian cities leaving at least 40 people dead and dozens of others wounded.
Terrorist groups resort to attacks on civilians every time that the Syrian government gains victories on the ground and closes in on cleansing the rebel controlled regions.
Tartous
The first attack was a twin bomb explosion in the coastal province of Tartous and in a city with the same name.
The double blasts killed at least 11 people and injured 47 others. The second bomb was detonated by a suicide bomber after crowd gathered to help the victims.
"Two terrorist blasts on Arzuna bridge, the first a car bomb and the second a suicide bomber who detonated his explosive belt when people gathered to help the wounded," Syrian state television said
The city is considered as Syrian government's stronghold and also hosts a major Russian Navy base.
One Syrian army colonel was reportedly among the dead.
Hasaka
Another bomb hit the northeastern city of Hasaka where the state forces and Kurds control different parts of the city.
The explosion hit a checkpoint set by Kurdish security forces killing five people.
The attacker detonated his motorcycle near the post killing three members of Kurdish Asayesh security forces and two civilians.
Hasaka city has been regularly targeted by the ISIS terrorists, including in July, when a motorcycle bomber killed at least 16 people outside a bakery in the city.
Homs
In another incident, a car bomb exploded at the entrance to the Al-Zahra neighborhood in Homs, which is controlled by the government.
The governor of Homs province said a car bomb struck a military checkpoint in the provincial capital, Homs, killing two soldiers and injuring four others, one is in critical condition.
The city, Syria's third largest, is largely under government control, with only one neighborhood still under rebel control. Monday's bomb exploded in the government-held Bab Tadmor district, Syrian SANA news agency said.
Syrian TV aired footage showing massive damage to the area, with a number of smashed cars and the bloodied body of a guard at the checkpoint, where the blast had taken place.
Damascus
The final bomb exploded in Sabbourah suburb of the capital, Damascus. The attack killed one person and injured three others.
No further details was given on the attack, however the UK based so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported three fatalities for the attack.
Terrorist attacks, Retaliation for losing on the ground
The latest string of terrorist attacks come just one day after Syrian army tightened its siege around terrorist groups in Aleppo and managed to take control of armament academy in the south of the city.
Syrian air force also conducted a series of attacks against the Jiash al-Fatah terrorist groups in the countryside of Aleppo.
Multiple defeats on the ground seem to have sent terrorist groups toward their customary tactic of bomb and suicide attacks to on the one hand increase pressure on the government and national army so that the tight belt around Aleppo may loosen for an escape hole, and on the other hand pretend that they still are powerful and active.
Successive rounds of international negotiations, on the other hand, have failed to bear fruit, though US Secretary of State John Kerry and his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov are due to resume discussions on stemming the violence Monday.
Slaughtering civilians, terrorists try to put Damascus under pressure to either withdraw from final blow or compromise on any possible true deal to be reached in future.
