Alwaght- Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan Wednesday ended his sit-in after staging it in the country’s capital for 126 days in the backdrop of, what he said, the security challenges being faced by the country today, The News website reported .
Addressing the participants of his sit-in, he said Pakistan’s prevailing circumstances today demand that its nation stands united .
He said during today’s national parties meeting, the Corps Commander Peshawar gave a detailed briefing and informed that even forces outside our borders are involved in posing a security threat to Pakistan .
Imran Khan said if Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif makes a move towards launching a probe into the ‘poll rigging’, his party would extend its all-out support to him .
However, he warned that in case of failure to address his party’s grievances, he would once again come out on streets and make it difficult for the incumbent government to function .
"It is now an established fact that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf enjoys greatest street power in the country," he added .
Earlier, PTI held its core committee meeting to decide whether or not to end the sit-in .
Imran Khan ended the sit-in in the aftermath of Pakistan’s worst terrorist attack on an army-run school in Peshawar on Tuesday. The terrorist act claimed shortly after Imran Khan’s announcement, the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif lauded the decision of Imran Khan to end his sit-in .
The Premier said Imran Khan’s step will provide a boost to the Pakistan’s resolve to fight against terrorism .
PM Nawaz Sharif assured that Imran Khan’s reservations in connection with the last year’s elections would be properly addressed .
"The entire nation will fight together against terrorism and emerge triumphant,” he said .
