ALWAGHT- Yemen’s military has launched a new wave of strikes on Saudi targets, citing the kingdom’s continued military campaign against the war-torn country as justification.
Yemen’s armed forces have launched three military operations against targets in Saudi Arabia, firing dozens of ballistic missiles, according to spokesman General Yahya Saree. The attacks reportedly targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and King Khalid Air Base in Khamis Mushait, where aircraft hangars, ammunition depots and drone control centers were among the sites struck.
The third operation targeted a Saudi naval base in the southwestern Jizan region, where Saree said Saudi Border Guard personnel were killed or injured. He described the strikes as retaliation for Saudi-led attacks on Sana’a and southwestern Yemeni provinces on Saturday, which he said killed or wounded dozens of civilians, mostly women and children.
Saree vowed further attacks against Saudi targets and renewed warnings to international airlines, passengers and aviation personnel to avoid Saudi airspace and Riyadh’s main airport. However, he said Yemeni forces would refrain from targeting the airspace over the holy cities of Mecca and Medina.
