ALWAGHT- Major General Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said Tehran has laid out its terms to Washington, but US President Donald Trump has yet to make a decision on how to proceed.
Iranian security official Major General Mohsen Rezaei said Tehran has presented its conditions to Washington but claimed US President Donald Trump has been unable to decide whether to negotiate or pursue further military action. Rezaei also accused the US and Israel of violating international law through their attack on Iran.
Rezaei said Iran had defended itself with missile and drone operations against US and Israeli targets. His remarks came as Tehran awaits Washington’s response to a seven-point proposal delivered through Qatari mediation.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Iran’s position on its nuclear program remains unchanged, while the proposal sets conditions for lifting restrictions on the Strait of Hormuz. He said Tehran considers the conditions reasonable and is awaiting an official US response.
During talks with Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev, Rezaei also said Iran was prepared to contribute to peace efforts in the Caucasus while asserting that the United States had no future in the region. Mustafayev described Iran-Azerbaijan ties as friendly and rejected claims that Azerbaijan had allowed its territory to be used against Iran.
