ALWAGHT- A delegation of Italian political, social and media activists traveled to Tehran to attend the funeral procession of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, expressing solidarity with the Iranian people's pursuit of independence and self-determination while providing on-the-ground coverage of the event.
Italian anti-imperialist activist Moreno Pasquinelli said he and other members of the Anti-Imperialist Axis traveled to Tehran to attend the funeral of martyred Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. He said the visit was intended to express solidarity with the Iranian people and their pursuit of national independence and self-determination.
Italian media activist Achille Zanes also announced his trip to Tehran, saying he aimed to provide firsthand coverage of the funeral and present what he described as a more balanced view of Iran than that portrayed in Western media.
Zanes said he planned to livestream the funeral procession and produce interviews and reports on Iranian society during his stay. He described participating in the trip as an honor and said he hoped to offer his audience direct insight into the event.
The Italian delegation is part of a broader group of independent activists, antiwar campaigners and anti-imperialist organizations from several European countries, including the Netherlands, Britain, Denmark and Austria, who traveled to Tehran to attend or cover the funeral ceremony.
