ALWAGHT- Iran's right to uranium enrichment under the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) is nonnegotiable, according to Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei confirmed that negotiations with the United States are continuing through Pakistani mediators. He noted that after Iran presented a "14-point plan" and the US raised its concerns, Tehran shared its views. Revised proposals were received from the US via Pakistan, and Iran sent its official positions two nights ago.
Baghaei emphasized that Iran's right to uranium enrichment under the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) is non-negotiable and does not require validation from any other party. He rejected US President Donald Trump's suggestion of a 20-year suspension of enrichment activities, stating that Iran's current focus is on ending the war. He added that no detailed nuclear discussions have taken place, and Iran will not compromise on its nuclear rights.
The spokesman said the US uses economic pressure as a tool but has realized threats cannot deter Iran from pursuing its people's rights. Iran remains focused on national interests regardless of threats and can respond firmly to any miscalculation. Baghaei stressed that Iran is fully prepared for any scenario, will defend itself against reckless actions, and warned that the Iranian Armed Forces have "surprises" in store.
