ALWAGHT- Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman criticized the IAEA for venturing beyond its legal mandate into political commentary on matters like the Strait of Hormuz and Iran's missile program, cautioning that this risks damaging the agency's credibility.
Posting on X on Sunday, Baghaei stated that the IAEA's role is to verify, not to issue political statements regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Iran's missile program, or how Tehran should behave. He emphasized that when professional neutrality is sacrificed for political posturing or personal gain, institutions lose credibility—and eventually, their effectiveness as well.
