ALWAGHT- An informed Saudi source says the Kingdom will not allow its airspace to be used for offensive military operations, signaling Riyadh's push to contain regional escalation and avert a wider war.
An informed Saudi source, cited by Al-Hadath newspaper, denied recent reports from The Wall Street Journal claiming that Saudi and Kuwaiti airspace would be opened to US aircraft, calling those reports "incorrect"—a denial also emphasized by other Saudi officials. Al-Arabiya channel further quoted a Saudi official confirming that the Kingdom has granted no authorization for the use of its airspace to support US-led offensive military operations against Iran. The source suggested that "certain parties are seeking to distort the image of Saudi Arabia's position for unknown reasons."
The source stated that Saudi Arabia supports Pakistan-led political efforts to reach an agreement that would end the war and rising tensions between Tehran and Washington, underscoring Riyadh's commitment to de-escalation rather than confrontation. The source added that there are efforts aimed at falsely accusing Riyadh of providing direct support for military aggression in the region, reiterating that unknown parties are working to distort the Kingdom's stance.
