ALWAGHT- Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi meets with Iranian Ambassador in Islamabad for diplomatic discussions on regional tension reduction.
In a meeting attended by high-ranking security officials in Islamabad, Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri-Moghaddam discussed regional developments, particularly prospects for a second round of negotiations between Iran and the United States.
The Pakistani Ministry of Interior's statement highlighted Mohsin Naqvi's recent visit to Iran alongside Pakistan's Army Chief and the Iranian Ambassador's appreciation for Pakistan's efforts to de-escalate regional tensions.
Both sides emphasized the importance of utilizing diplomatic capacities to strengthen regional stability, with Pakistani officials announcing necessary measures for future diplomatic processes. However, Iran has currently no plans to participate in the second round of negotiations due to US ceasefire violations, such as the recent attack on an Iranian merchant vessel. The Pakistani Interior Minister also held a separate meeting with the United States Ambassador to Islamabad on Monday.
