Iran Deems a Naval Blockade to Be in Violation of The Established Ceasefire

ALWAGHT- On Saturday, Iran's SNSC Secretariat released a statement characterizing the proposed naval blockade and potential disruptions to ship traffic as a violation of the agreed-upon ceasefire terms.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has vowed to maintain strict surveillance over the Strait of Hormuz until all hostilities initiated by the US and Israel have ceased, and lasting peace is achieved.

Following 40 days of war, negotiations between Iran and the US began in Islamabad under Pakistani mediation. Despite initial promises by the US to adhere to Iran's 10-point plan for ending the conflict, new demands were presented during talks, which eventually ended without a resolution.

One of Iran's conditions for a temporary ceasefire was a halt to aggression on all fronts, including Lebanon. However, Israel violated this agreement from the outset with attacks on Lebanon and Hezbollah.

Due to concerns over national security and regional stability, Iran has pledged to control vessel traffic through the Strait of Hormuz until the war concludes and lasting peace is established. The Islamic Republic will enforce its regulations by obtaining information about passing vessels, issuing transit permits, collecting fees for services, and designating routes for shipping. Any attempts at naval blockades or disruptions to traffic will be considered ceasefire violations. The SNSC emphasizes the importance of maintaining national unity and vigilance on all fronts during this critical period.
