ALWAGHT- Iran's First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref has urged for a significant increase in bilateral trade with Oman, setting a new annual target of $5 billion.
During a meeting on Tuesday, Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref called for significantly boosting annual trade with Oman from the current $2.5 billion to a target of $5 billion. He emphasized the strong historical and cultural ties between the two nations, noting that their friendly relations are built on mutual respect and constructive cooperation.
Aref praised Oman's stance on regional issues and stressed the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in science and advanced technologies. He expressed confidence that the development of cooperation would accelerate in the new term, acknowledging Oman's constructive role in strengthening ties.
In response, the Omani Ambassador to Tehran reaffirmed his country's firm commitment to deepening relations with Iran. He stated that the Sultan of Oman has directed an enhancement of cooperation in all fields, highlighting the significant potential both nations have to elevate their partnership.
The ambassador also underscored the consistency of Oman's positions toward Iran, affirming his country’s support for Iran's approach to promoting regional peace and stability.
