ALWAGHT- Dozens of Israeli settlers have carried out a large-scale assault on industrial and agricultural sites in the northeastern West Bank, igniting major fires and injuring several Palestinians amid a surge in settler violence across the occupied territory.
Israeli settlers launched a large-scale assault on the al-Lada’in industrial zone near Beit Lid, east of Tulkarm, setting fire to several vehicles—including four dairy factory trucks—and damaging the facility. Farmland, metal sheds, and Bedouin tents were also destroyed as smoke engulfed the area. Videos posted online show Palestinians desperately trying to extinguish the fires while settlers advanced toward the Bedouin community.
Several residents were injured after settlers hurled stones and vandalized property. Witnesses reported that Israeli forces entered the area to shield the settlers and pursued Palestinians who tried to resist the attack. According to Palestinian sources, such incidents form part of a wider escalation, with over 2,300 joint assaults by settlers and Israeli troops recorded in the West Bank last month alone.
The Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission (CRRC) documented more than 1,500 Israeli military attacks and 766 settler assaults in its latest report, noting that Ramallah, Nablus, and al-Khalil were hardest hit. Despite the International Court of Justice’s July 2024 ruling declaring Israel’s occupation illegal and calling for settlement evacuations, no action has been taken to enforce it.
