ALWAGHT- According to Sudan’s Doctors’ Union, the RSF incinerated and buried hundreds of bodies in El Fasher to cover up genocide.
The Sudanese Doctors’ Union has reported that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in El Fasher, North Darfur, have collected hundreds of bodies, burning some and burying others, in an apparent effort to conceal crimes against civilians. The union condemned these acts as among the “most horrific inhumane practices” and described them as part of a broader genocide carried out by the RSF.
The organization accused the paramilitary group of violating international and religious norms regarding the treatment of the dead, holding the RSF fully responsible for the massacres. It called on the international community to take immediate action and urged an independent investigation into the El Fasher crisis.
Reports from humanitarian and research groups indicate widespread atrocities, including killings, forced displacement, and ethnic persecution of non-Arab communities such as the Fur, Zaghawa, and Berti. Satellite imagery has revealed mass graves, destroyed neighborhoods, and deliberate attacks on civilian areas, while the RSF has controlled El Fasher since October 26 after a prolonged siege.
The International Criminal Court (ICC) is collecting evidence of potential war crimes and crimes against humanity. El Fasher remains under siege, with hospitals bombed or looted, essential aid blocked, and residents facing starvation, while journalists and aid workers have reported targeted attacks by RSF fighters.
