Iran Willing to Help Address Pakistan–Afghanistan Border Disputes, Says Araghchi

ALWAGHT- Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has expressed readiness to assist in resolving the heightened Pakistan-Afghanistan border tensions triggered by recent fatal confrontations.

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a phone call with his Pakistani counterpart, Ishaq Dar, discussing bilateral ties and recent regional developments. Araghchi expressed concern over escalating tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan and stressed the need for continued dialogue supported by key regional players.

He reiterated Iran’s readiness to help facilitate the resolution of disputes, as Pakistan and Afghanistan struggle to maintain peace after deadly border clashes last month. Despite a ceasefire agreement in Doha, subsequent negotiation rounds in Istanbul have failed to deliver a lasting solution.

Both officials highlighted the importance of strong Iran-Pakistan relations and vowed to strengthen cooperation. Dar updated Araghchi on the stalled peace talks, emphasizing the need to safeguard regional stability.
