ALWAGHT- On Thursday, the World Health Organization reported that aid deliveries to Gaza have seen little improvement since the ceasefire, with hunger levels remaining unchanged.
WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warned that the humanitarian situation in Gaza remains catastrophic, as aid deliveries are insufficient to meet the population’s needs. Since the US-brokered ceasefire on October 10, there has been no meaningful reduction in hunger, with food shortages continuing to threaten lives.
Israel’s repeated restrictions on aid during the conflict have worsened the crisis, contributing to famine conditions in parts of Gaza. WHO representative Richard Peeperkorn reported that 411 people, including 109 children, have already died from malnutrition since the start of 2025.
The United States continues to engage with Israel to ensure compliance with the ceasefire and facilitate aid. Senior US officials, including Marco Rubio, Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, and Vice President JD Vance, have recently visited Israel, with Rubio noting “good progress” on the US-led Gaza plan but stressing that significant work remains to address the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
