ALWAGHT- Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei stated that Iran will assert its demands in upcoming talks with the E3, emphasizing that the European powers have lost the standing to make demands after failing to uphold the 2015 nuclear deal following the US withdrawal.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei announced that in upcoming talks with the European trio (France, Germany, and Britain), Iran will firmly press its demands, particularly on lifting sanctions and addressing nuclear issues. He criticized the European parties for failing to fulfill their obligations under the 2015 nuclear deal and accused them of supporting recent US-Israeli military actions against Iran, including deadly strikes on Iranian officials and nuclear sites.
Baghaei also highlighted ongoing coordination with Russia and China, noting a trilateral meeting set to take place in Tehran to address nuclear matters and the snapback sanctions mechanism. He emphasized that Europe has no legal or moral grounds to trigger the snapback clause under Resolution 2231, given their failure to uphold the JCPOA, and warned that doing so would sideline Europe from future nuclear negotiations.
In response to claims by former US Secretary of State Antony Blinken about Iran offering to lower uranium enrichment below 1%, Baghaei denied any such proposal had been made. He also discussed Ali Larijani’s recent trip to Moscow, where Larijani conveyed Iran’s stance on recent regional and international developments in a meeting with President Vladimir Putin.
