ALWAGHT- The Iranian envoy to the Netherlands criticized the Dutch government for its silence regarding the US and Israeli actions against Iran.
Iran’s ambassador to the Netherlands, Hadi Farajvand, urged The Hague to take a principled stand and condemn the recent Israeli and US attacks on Iran, emphasizing the city’s role as the “legal capital of the world.” He criticized the Dutch government for its silence in the face of what he called unprovoked aggression and violations of international law during the 12-day offensive targeting Iranian military and nuclear sites.
Farajvand stressed that claims by the US, Israel, and Western allies accusing Iran of diverting its nuclear program for military purposes have not been substantiated by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). He reiterated Iran’s peaceful nuclear intentions, citing religious and ethical principles that prohibit the production or use of nuclear weapons, while affirming Iran’s right to defend its national security within international law.
The ambassador described the attacks as a betrayal of ongoing diplomatic efforts between Tehran and Washington, criticizing the US administration’s lack of seriousness in negotiations. He affirmed Iran’s commitment to stability and dialogue but warned it will respond firmly and legally to any threats against its sovereignty.
