Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi briefed the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee on the fifth round of indirect nuclear talks with the United States, held in Rome and mediated by Oman. Araghchi described the session as one of the most professional to date, reaffirming that Iran remains committed to its clearly defined positions and will not negotiate under pressure.
According to parliamentary spokesman Ebrahim Rezaei, Araghchi emphasized that Iran’s nuclear policy is guided by clarity and national interest, not foreign threats or incentives. He also warned that any potential conflict in the region, spurred by opposition to Iran’s enrichment program—particularly from the Israeli regime—would have wide-reaching consequences across the Middle East.
While Iran remains open to diplomatic solutions, including the idea of a regional enrichment center, Araghchi stressed that enrichment within Iran will not stop. He reiterated Tehran's commitment to diplomacy, criticizing the US for inconsistent positions during negotiations and affirming that Iran has never walked away from the negotiating table.
