Iran and Turkmenistan to Finalize Third Power Transmission Line

ALWAGHT- Iran and Tajikistan have agreed to expedite the completion of the third electricity transmission line between Mashhad and Mary.

During a meeting between Iran’s Minister of Energy, Abbas Aliabadi, and Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister, Rashid Meredov, both countries agreed to fast-track the completion of the third electricity transmission line connecting Mashhad, Iran, to Mary, Turkmenistan—one of the key projects in their energy partnership.

The officials highlighted the importance of accelerating this major bilateral energy cooperation initiative. The discussion focused on strengthening ties between the two neighbors in the sectors of water and electricity.

Both delegations also reviewed the history of their collaboration and outlined a roadmap to enhance future cooperation, particularly in water management, energy development, and the exchange of technical expertise.
