ALWAGHT- The Yemeni Armed Forces have carried out an attack on the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier and its escort ships in the northern Red Sea, citing it as a response to ongoing US military actions and the targeting of Yemen’s critical infrastructure.
Yemeni military spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree announced a coordinated operation involving naval, drone, and missile units that targeted the USS Harry S. Truman and a US Navy supply ship in the northern Red Sea. He described the attack as a response to ongoing US aggression against Yemen and emphasized Yemen’s commitment to defending Palestinians as a moral and humanitarian obligation. Saree also noted that a Yafa-type drone had recently been used to target an Israeli military site in Tel Aviv.
The Yemeni Armed Forces declared their operations against Israel and its allies would continue until the aggression on Gaza ends and the blockade is fully lifted. These actions include disrupting Israeli maritime activity in the Red and Arabian Seas and targeting military and vital infrastructure. In a separate incident, Yemeni air defenses shot down a US Giant Shark F360 drone over Sa’ada province, using a domestically produced surface-to-air missile.
Meanwhile, US forces escalated their airstrikes on Yemen, targeting several areas including Kamaran Island and the northern city of Sa’ada. At least two civilians were killed and four others injured in strikes that hit a house and a solar energy store. Civil defense teams responded to the aftermath, extinguishing fires and conducting rescue operations. The US and UK attacks on Yemen, alongside Israeli operations in Gaza, continue to provoke retaliatory strikes from Yemeni forces, who vow to maintain pressure until their demands are met.
