ALWAGHT- The US military has struck Hudaydah airport in the latest act of 'American aggression' against Yemen, following Washington's announcement of major attacks on the impoverished nation a week ago.
The US military launched multiple airstrikes in Yemen on Saturday night, targeting Hudaydah airport and the port of Salif on the Red Sea coast. Additional strikes hit the Majzar district in Ma’rib province and several areas in Sa'ada province. These attacks are part of ongoing US military operations against Yemen, following an earlier wave of strikes on March 15 that reportedly killed 53 people.
The escalation comes as the United States deploys a second aircraft carrier, the USS Carl Vinson, to the region. Ansarullah leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi criticized the US for relying on aircraft carriers to project power, calling them a burden. Yemeni forces have vowed to intensify their attacks in support of Palestinians, following Israel's renewed aggression in Gaza.
On Saturday, Yemen's military claimed to have launched a ballistic missile at Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport, marking its third such attack in two days. Israel confirmed the launch but said it intercepted the missile. Yemeni forces had paused their operations after a ceasefire was announced in January but resumed them last week after Israel blocked humanitarian aid to Gaza and violated the truce.
