ALWAGHT- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has expressed support for the long-awaited peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, reaffirming Iran's dedication to fostering regional peace and stability.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian congratulated Armenia and Azerbaijan on their long-awaited peace agreement during a phone call with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. He reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to regional peace, stability, and the preservation of territorial integrity among neighboring countries. Azerbaijan regained control over the region following a brief military operation. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei welcomed the agreement as a crucial step toward lasting peace in the South Caucasus.
During the call, Pezeshkian emphasized the strong and growing ties between Iran and Armenia, urging officials to accelerate the implementation of bilateral agreements. Pashinyan provided updates on the finalized peace treaty and expressed appreciation for Iran’s support. He reiterated Armenia’s commitment to continuing negotiations and fostering regional cooperation, hoping for the swift signing and implementation of the agreement.
