ALWAGHT- The Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces expressed Iran's readiness to collaborate with Pakistan on the production of military equipment.
During a meeting with Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff, General Asim Munir, in Islamabad on Monday, Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri emphasized Iran's willingness to collaborate with Pakistan on the joint production of defense equipment. He also highlighted the importance of intelligence sharing and coordination between the two nations to combat terrorist groups operating along their shared border.
General Baqeri praised Pakistan's commitment to fighting the Jaish al-Adl terrorist group (referred to in Iran as Jaish al-Dhulm) and called for coordinated cross-border patrols and joint military exercises. He also expressed Iran’s readiness to conduct joint naval exercises with Pakistan, stressing the significance of cooperation among key regional players like Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia for the benefit of the region.
The Iranian general also discussed the necessity of promoting peace and stability in neighboring Afghanistan. Major General Baqeri, who is heading a military delegation, visited Islamabad at the official invitation of Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff, and had a separate meeting with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari.
