Iran Army Ground Forces Initiate Comprehensive Security and Counterterrorism Drills

ALWAGHT- The Iranian Army's Ground Forces have commenced large-scale security, offensive, and counterterrorism exercises along the nation's borders and beyond.

The Iranian Army's Ground Forces launched extensive drills on Monday, employing advanced military hardware to enhance security and counterterrorism capabilities. The initial phase included operations by rapid reaction units, such as the 65th Airborne Brigade, targeting terrorist groups near and across the borders. These maneuvers involved gathering intelligence, identifying overseas terrorist gatherings, and conducting preemptive strikes to neutralize threats to Iran’s security and territorial integrity.

The exercises utilized stealth and reconnaissance drones, including Fajr missiles with a range of 110 kilometers and Mohajer drones equipped with Qa’em bombs, to destroy terrorist positions. The operations were supported by heavy firepower from helicopter gunships, armored units, and artillery. These advancements follow the Army’s recent acquisition of 1,000 advanced UAVs, highlighting Iran's growing capabilities in air defense and reconnaissance. Defense Minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh emphasized the readiness of Iran’s Armed Forces to secure the nation’s skies and deliver decisive responses to adversaries.

The drills reflect Iran’s continuous efforts to enhance its military strength in accordance with directives from Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. Both the Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) have pledged to defend the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against any threats, showcasing a robust commitment to national security and deterrence.
