ALWAGHT- Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, arrived in Islamabad, Pakistan's capital, on Sunday, leading a high-ranking military delegation to strengthen military cooperation between the two nations.
General Bagheri, accompanied by a high-ranking military delegation, arrived at Pakistan’s Nur Khan Airbase at the invitation of Pakistani Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir.
Upon arrival, the Iranian delegation was received by Iran’s Ambassador to Islamabad, Reza Amiri-Moghadam, Iran’s Military Attache in Pakistan, Colonel Mohammad Shahabi, Pakistan Army Deputy Commander for Logistics Affairs, Lt. Gen. Hassan Khattak, and several other Pakistani military officials.
Discussions between the two sides will focus on enhancing defense cooperation and relations between Tehran and Islamabad, expanding joint border collaboration, combating terrorism, and addressing regional developments and issues concerning the Islamic world.
Additionally, the two parties will review the progress of agreements made during the Pakistani army commander’s previous visit to Tehran.
As part of the scheduled program, General Bagheri is expected to meet with Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif.
