US Airstrikes Strike Yemen After Ansarullah Vows Retaliation Against Israel

ALWAGHT- The United States carried out several airstrikes in Yemen's 'Amran province on Friday after Ansarullah leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi warned that Yemeni forces would escalate attacks on Israel if its actions in Gaza continued.

The United States launched at least five airstrikes on the Harf Sufyan district in Yemen's ‘Amran province, as reported by Yemen’s al-Masirah television channel. The strikes came in response to heightened tensions after Ansarullah leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi vowed to continue targeting Israeli-linked entities if Israel persisted in its military operations in Gaza. In a televised speech, al-Houthi reaffirmed Yemen’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian people, condemning Israel's ongoing "genocidal massacres" and warning of further military action if a ceasefire is not implemented.

Yemeni forces have been actively targeting Israeli, American, and British-linked entities since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza on October 7, 2023. These operations are both a reaction to Israel’s actions in Gaza and to perceived foreign interference in Yemen. Among their efforts, Yemeni forces have disrupted shipping operations connected to these nations, including at Israel’s Eilat port, causing economic challenges in the region and intensifying the conflict’s international dimensions.

The ongoing conflict in Gaza has resulted in a devastating humanitarian toll, with over 46,780 Palestinians killed, most of them women and children, and nearly 111,000 others injured. Yemeni Armed Forces have vowed to maintain their strikes until Israel ceases its ground and aerial offensives, underscoring the broader regional impact of the Gaza crisis and the deepening divisions in the Middle East.
