ALWAGHT- Former President Trump is projected to reclaim the presidency, securing a second term nearly four years after departing Washington amid controversy and an uncertain political future.
Former President Trump is projected to win a second term nearly four years after leaving Washington under controversy, according to Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ). DDHQ made the call after declaring Trump the projected winner of Pennsylvania and Alaska, pushing him to exactly 270 electoral votes.
Trump defeated Vice President Harris in a turbulent race that featured a criminal trial involving Trump, two assassination attempts, and President Biden’s exit from the Democratic ticket. This victory makes Trump the first president in over 120 years, since Grover Cleveland in 1892, to regain the presidency after losing it.
After a close campaign against Harris, Trump ultimately flipped Georgia, held North Carolina, and broke through the "blue wall," narrowly winning the popular vote. He and running mate Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) rallied support by addressing voter concerns over rising costs, border issues, and global instability during the Biden administration.
