ALWAGHT- A security official in southeastern Iran reported that four members of a major terrorist group in the region were killed, and six others were arrested.
Brigadier General Ahmad Shafaei announced on Tuesday that four terrorists were killed and six arrested following the recent martyrdom of 10 officers in Taftan, located in Sistan and Baluchestan province.
According to Shafaei, local security forces, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, and anti-terrorism units struck a major blow against the terrorists, identified as proxies of the enemy. Since last week, 14 members of the group have been arrested, and eight have been killed.
He added that those apprehended include key members responsible for the Taftan attack and that a significant cache of weapons, including US-made arms, was seized during the operations. Last week, a police spokesman confirmed the death of the group’s ringleader in the attack on a police convoy in southeastern Iran.
"We have fulfilled our promise to avenge the pure blood of our martyrs," Brigadier General Saeed Montazer al-Mahdi declared on Saturday.
