The US has spent a record $17.9 billion on military aid to Israel since the Gaza war began

ALWAGHT- New research reveals that the United States has spent a record $17.9 billion in military aid to Israel since the regime launched its devastating assault on Palestinians in the blockaded Gaza Strip.

A report from Brown University's Costs of War project reveals that US military aid to Israel has exceeded previous records, surpassing any single year since military assistance to Israel began in 1959. The aid includes military financing, weapons sales, and transfers from US stockpiles.

The report highlights the use of US-made artillery, missile munitions, precision-guided bombs, and heavy explosives in Gaza, where over 42,000 people have died. Additionally, the US has spent $4.86 billion on pro-Israel operations in West Asia, including in Yemen, since the start of the war on Gaza.

Yemenis have openly supported Palestine’s fight against Israeli occupation since the war on Gaza began on October 7, 2023, following the Palestinian resistance’s surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm. The Yemeni Armed Forces vowed to continue their attacks until Israel halts its ground and air offensives in Gaza.

The report also notes that the US has deployed expensive military assets, including aircraft carriers and multimillion-dollar missiles, to counter Yemeni drones costing as little as $2,000. Despite growing opposition from some American officials, lawmakers, and human rights groups over civilian deaths in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon, US support for Israel remains firm.
