ALWAGHT- Qatar's foreign minister referred to Iran as a "responsible actor" capable of playing a constructive role in efforts to secure a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
During a meeting in Tehran on Monday with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani emphasized Qatar's strong commitment to fostering "brotherly and strategic" relations with Iran. He reaffirmed Qatar's dedication to securing a ceasefire in Gaza, expressing confidence in Iran's constructive and responsible role in the process.
President Pezeshkian praised the high level of political ties between Tehran and Doha and highlighted the importance of expanding bilateral relations across all sectors. He also commended Qatar's efforts toward achieving a truce in Gaza, criticizing those who claim to advocate for human rights yet remain silent or supportive of Israel's genocidal actions against Palestinians.
The Iranian president expressed hope that Islamic countries and other nations committed to international law would take united action to pressure the sponsors of the Zionist regime to restrain Israel and halt its crimes in Gaza.
