Iran Denounces Israeli Violation of Al-Aqsa Mosque

ALWAGHT- The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the actions of two Israeli ministers and a group of illegal Zionist settlers who stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex on Tuesday.

In a statement, Nasser Kanaani condemned the “provocative move” by Israeli ministers and settlers, calling it a clear example of the Zionists' intent to incite tension and unrest in the region.

He emphasized that this sinister act exposes the undeniable truth that the Zionist regime's leaders aim to escalate their aggressive actions by inflaming the religious sentiments of Muslims in Palestine and across the world.

Kanaani also called on the US and other Western backers of the Zionist regime to demonstrate their concern for West Asia's security and stability by immediately restraining Israel and ending its genocidal crimes in the Gaza Strip and its adventurism in the region.

His comments followed an incident in which at least two Israeli ministers, along with hundreds of illegal settlers, stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex in occupied East Jerusalem to mark a Jewish event.

According to the Israeli Ynet news website, far-right national security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, Otzma Yehudit party minister Yitzhak Wasserlauf, and Likud party Knesset member Amit Halevi entered the complex to commemorate Tisha B'Av, an annual Jewish fast day marking several tragedies in Jewish history.

Around 2,250 Israeli settlers visited the complex and performed Talmudic religious rituals, as stated by the Jordan-run Islamic Endowments Department.
