ALWAGHT- Moscow welcomes the signing of the Beijing Declaration by Palestinian factions and anticipates that they will honor the agreements, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated at a briefing.
"I would like to comment on the signing of the Beijing Declaration aimed at restoring intra-Palestinian unity. We welcome these agreements, which are intended to address internal divisions among Palestinians. The accords were finalized during a meeting hosted by our Chinese allies in Beijing on July 23, which brought together representatives from 14 Palestinian factions," Zakharova noted, according to TASS.
"We anticipate that these agreements will be implemented, as we firmly believe that achieving unity among Palestinians and maintaining the administrative and political integrity of Palestinian territories within the 1967 borders is essential for paving the way for peace negotiations between Palestine and Israel," she added.
Zakharova also reaffirmed Russia’s commitment "to continue actively supporting the Palestinian people in these efforts, in close coordination with our Chinese colleagues and regional partners."
China Central Television reported on Tuesday that Chinese authorities had provided a platform for Palestinian reconciliation consultations. The talks, which included members from various Palestinian factions, resulted in the signing of a declaration aimed at ending divisions and strengthening unity.
