Iran Embassy’s Consular Section in Damascus Comes under Israeli Missile Attack

Alwaght- As the developments around the Israeli attack on the Iranian embassy's consular section in Damascus on Monday afternoon unfold, more countries condemn the terrorist action by Tel Aviv.

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry on Monday night published a statement in which it condemned the attack on the diplomatic building of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Syrian capital Damascus.

The attack, the foreign ministry said, was a gross violation of the international laws and could bear serious consequences to the regional peace.

Also, Sayyed Amar al-Hakim, the head of Iraq's National Wisdom Movement condemned the attack. He urged the international community to take immediate action to stop the repeated violation of the sovereignty of other countries by the Israeli regime.

"This attack is a clear violation of all international principles and treaties, according to which embassies and diplomatic places are immune and no party has the right to involve them in conflicts," his statement read.

Yemen's Ansarullah Movement has also condemned the attack and expressed Sana'a condolences to the families of the martyrs.

Lebanon’s Hezbollah condemned the attack, and said that "certainly, this crime that targeted the Iranian consulate will not go unpunished."

Also, Hamas released a statement, saying that the attack was a dangerous escalation by the Israeli enemy. The movement called for the UNSC to create a deterrence against the Israeli regime to avoid more crimes.

Russia was also among the top to condemn. The Russian foreign ministry issued a statement condemning the attack in strongest terms.

"Such aggressive actions by Israel are absolutely unacceptable and must be stopped... It is necessary that all responsible members of the international community clearly define their position and the appropriate legal assessment of these Israeli actions," it said.

The statement further called for Tel Aviv to avoid provocations that can have very dangerous consequences.

According to Tasnim news agency, Saudi Arabia, too, reacted to the attacking a statement.

The statement said that the Arab kingdom stresses that the attack violates all the international diplomatic laws.

The United Arab Emirates was another country to react. The foreign ministry of the UAE, according to the official news agency, released a statement condemning the attack on the Iranian embassy.

The US, however, did not condemn this brazen violation of the diplomatic building, and said it was gathering information on the attack.

Jordan's foreign ministry was next to react to this attack. It said that the attack was a "serous" violation of the international treaties that offer immunity to diplomatic missions.

For his part, Iran's Foreign Minister Hussein Amir-Abdollahian in an X post said Iran sent an "important message" to the US as the supporter of the Israeli regime.

"Following the Israeli regime's terrorist attack on the diplomatic building of the Islamic Republic of Iran's consulate in Damascus and the martyrdom of several of our country's official military advisors, the Swiss embassy official as the protector of America's interests in Iran, at 00:45 this morning (Tuesday) was realled by the director general for the US affairs. In this recall, the dimensions of the terrorist attack and the crime of the Israeli regime were explained and the responsibility of the American government was emphasized. An important message was sent to the American government as a supporter of the Zionist regime. America must be responsible," the post read.
