Israelis Will Have No Security as Long as Occupation Persists: Hamas

The Palestinian resistance movement of Hamas has hailed a recent resistance operation in the West Bank city of Ramallah that killed an Israeli soldier and wounded several others.

“This is a message to the occupiers that they will have no security as long as they occupy our land and insult our sanctities,” Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem said on Thursday.

The casualties were caused earlier in the day after a Palestinian driver ran over a group of Israeli troopers west of Ramallah. Israeli forces shot and killed the driver.

“Intensification of resistance measures in the West Bank shows that the resistance expands and its influence grows every day, and that the occupiers are incapable of stopping the resistance, despite committing atrocities,” Qassem added.

Mohammad Hamadeh, another Hamas spokesman, also reacted to the Thursday car-ramming incident, calling it realization of “the resistance’s practical pledge to smash the occupiers’ security structure and reveal its brittleness.”

The occupiers would pay the price of their whatever crime against the Palestinian nation with the lives of their military forces and settlers, he added.

“Our fighters will pursue whatever option towards bringing victory closer and realizing the liberation of our nation, and will expel the occupiers from every street and camp,” Hamadeh stated.

The remarks came a day after Palestinian resistance fighters set off an explosive device in the northern West Bank city of Nablus, injuring four Israeli forces.

The Nablus battalion of the al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad resistance movement, said in a statement that its members had carried out “a precise ambush on an occupation ground force” near Joseph’s Tomb compound on Wednesday night.

The Israeli forces had raided Nablus to escort the entry of hundreds of settlers to Joseph’s Tomb compound.
