Palestinian Doctor Succumbs to Injuries He Sustained During Israeli Regime Raid

Palestinian Doctor Succumbs to Injuries He Sustained During Israeli Regime Raid

Alwaght- Palestinian doctor Abdullah al-Ahmad Abu al-Teen has succumbed to wounds he sustained as a result of Israeli forces shooting on Friday morning while he was trying to help a wounded Palestinian in Jenin, the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian health ministry announced that al-Teen, 43, was shot in the head on Friday morning.

Hundreds of Palestinians held a funeral in Jenin for the doctor, who was a father of three.

According to local media, al-Teen is the 170th Palestinian killed by the Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank since the start of 2022.

The Israeli crime was strongly condemned by Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh. In a statement on Friday, he described the Israeli crime as a “dangerous development that requires urgent intervention by international human rights and humanitarian organizations,” WAFA news agency reported.

The impunity of the Israeli occupiers prompts the regime to commit more crimes, he said, urging the international community to abandon double standards and take steps to stop Israeli crimes against Palestinian people.

The Friday raid on Jenin also claimed the life of a 20-year-old Palestinian, Mateen Dabaya. Five others were injured during the attack as Israeli forces reportedly used live bullets.

The killings took place shortly after dozens of Israeli armored vehicles raided Jenin on Friday at 8 a.m. (05:00 GMT), which was followed by armed clashes and confrontations with Israeli forces.

Footage shared by Palestinian media shows that Israeli forces were shooting at a crew of an ambulance.

The raid follows the killing of an Israeli soldier on Saturday at a checkpoint near Shuafat Palestinian refugee camp, which was followed by a massive manhunt for the suspected attacker, who remains at large.

The occupation forces enforced a blockade on the Shuafat camp for four days. Meanwhile, residents of the camp, some 130,000 people, called on Palestinians to mobilize and launched a general strike on Wednesday to pressure for ending the siege, which was slowly lifted on Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, confrontations erupted between settlers with Palestinians in several neighborhoods across the occupied East al-Quds and the West Bank in recent days.

Israeli extremist threatens Palestinians with gun

A video has gone viral which shows right-wing Israeli Knesset member, Itamar Ben-Gvir, threatening Palestinian people living in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood as he pulls out a handgun.

He threatened to shoot at them if they continue resisting Israeli settlers’ attack. Israeli occupation police were on the scene near Ben-Gvir during the incident.

“It is inconceivable that Arabs throw stones near the police and the police do not respond by shooting,” Ben-Gvir stated after the incident.

Settlers stone Palestinian homes in Nablus

According to WAFA news agency, Israeli settlers threw stones at Palestinian houses in the towns of Huwara and Urif, to the south of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus.

Dozens of settlers attacked the eastern area of Urif and were faced off by residents, sparking confrontations, said the report, adding that the settlers also threw stones at a number of Palestinian houses in Huwara under the protection of Israeli forces.

Three Palestinians were also reportedly injured by live bullets in Huwara.
